Description

The main themes of applied research of the Geomatics group are:

  • surveying, mapping and monitoring of landscape (subsidence, landslides, etc.) and structures, using terrestrial systems (classic topography and laser scanning), photogrammetry (close-range and aerial, also with UAVs), spatial geodesy and radar interferometry
  • remote sensing for environmental sustainability, risk management and smart city applications
  • implementation of international spatial reference frames
  • design and analysis of control networks
  • surveying and three-dimensional modeling for Cultural Heritage
  • metrical use and digital applications for historical maps
  • geodetic activities in Antarctica
  • Geographical Information Systems.
