Public engagement
The DICAM Department is committed to organizing meeting events with Enterprises and Institutions. DICAM Works events (2016, 2018, 2021, 2023) are opportunities for universities, the world of work and students to meet and mutually benefit from each other, i.e. the cornerstones of economic and social development in the near future. DICAM presents its expertise to institutions and companies by gathering suggestions, expectations and proposals for collaboration. DICAM Works events represent a bridge projected toward the country's future.

The DICAM department engages in science communication to non-expert audiences through public engagement initiatives. The main purpose is to disseminate scientific knowledge and culture in society, particularly on topics involving civil, environmental, chemical, and materials engineering. Through these initiatives, DICAM faculty and researchers explain and document, through language accessible to the lay public, their research activities and the impact it has on society.
DICAM faculty and researchers:
- Organize and participate in science cafes or aperitifs, debates, panel discussions, science festivals.
- They provide television news interviews and participate in television broadcasts regarding their research activities.
- They collaborate in writing popular articles about their research activities for the general press and press releases.
- They participate in the European Researchers' Night.
