Reference libraries and Teamworking Room
The reference library for faculty, researchers and students in the department is the Engineering and Architecture Library - BIA divided into three sections: the “Giovanni Michelucci” Library, the “Franco P. Foraboschi” Library and the “Gian Paolo Dore” Library. It has a total of more than 130,000 volumes, 5,000 periodicals and 1,300 ancient books, as well as more than 1,000 databases. In addition to traditional library resources, the department has inaugurated a new space dedicated to shared learning: the Teamworking Room, an experimental model of a study room.

Teamworking Room
DICAM offers a new concept in collaborative study rooms: the Teamworking Room, located at the Engineering Department in Via Terracini.
This space, measuring over 50 square metres, is a flexible and innovative environment designed to give rise to new forms of shared learning. The Teamworking Room is designed to promote interaction, encourage teamwork and strengthen the sharing of ideas and knowledge.
Features and Equipment:
- The furnishings are specifically designed to facilitate co-studying and cooperation. There are three stations dedicated to groups, each equipped with sofas (seating four or six), a table and a 32-inch LCD monitor.
- These monitors allow for the sharing of presentations, documents or multimedia content, facilitating dynamic and interactive collaboration. At the centre of the room is a modular table (six modules on wheels), a design choice that encourages modularity and adaptability, allowing for a quick transition between individual and group work.
- Every detail of the environment has been carefully designed to ensure acoustic comfort and style: wooden panelling and additional acoustic panels help to reduce reverberation. There are also six ergonomic chairs and stools with side tables, making the space functional in every situation.
- Particular attention has been paid to technology and connectivity. Each workstation is equipped with multiple electrical sockets and various types of USB ports to allow for the simultaneous charging and use of personal devices.
- The side columns are also an active part of the environment, being coated with a dark magnetic paint that can be used as a surface for sharing notes or messages.
Access Service:
Students can use the various workstations in the Teamwork Room thanks to an online seat reservation service.
