The third event of “Copernicus Satellite Data in Chile and Latin America: From applications to networking” workshop series for Natural Resources section was held on September 6th at Universidad Católica del Norte in the city of Antofagasta, center of the Chilean Mining Region. The Researcher of DICAM Dr. Sara Kasmaeeyazdi had her presentation as key speaker in the first Session: Mining Resources. The speech was about the importance of using innovation methods based on Copernicus data in mining applications and how to develop new approaches to boost the efficiency of mineral resources exploration and management, both technologically and economically. She presented the applications and case studies developed within the RawMatCop program (2018-2021), supported by EIT RawMaterials and funded by the European Commission, and had the opportunity to anticipate the Project follow-up, RawMatCop Alliance, recently funded.
