Waste management for disposal

The disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste: chemical, sanitary, WEEE, iron, wood, hydraulic oil, demolition, furniture/bulky items is carried out in accordance with Regulation 2025, the Procedures and the Manual drawn up by the Professional Waste Resource Management Unit, which the facility undertakes to implement by appointing the relevant roles. https://intranet.unibo.it/SpaziIct/Web3/Pagine/GestioneRifiutiPericolosiProcedura.aspx

The Local Unit Manager (RUL) receives waste at the DTR, assists with the preparation of the necessary documents, ensures correct storage, and sends the waste for disposal. For delivery to Temporary Storage Depots prior to Collection (DTR), the RUL is assisted by the Laboratory Waste Representatives (ReRL).

1. For the delivery of Special Waste produced in Chemical and Health Laboratories to the DTR, the ReRL sends an email to the RUL with the report completed and signed by the producing teacher for the director attached, agreeing on an appointment at the DTR.

2. For the delivery of Special Waste produced in Demolition Laboratories, the relevant ReRL directs the producer to the generic WHITE or BLACK collection points:

WHITE Special Demolition Waste: this is collected in the appropriate containers located at LISG, LAS, LASTM and CIRI.

BLACK Special Demolition Waste (bituminous conglomerate): collected in containers located at LAS

To request the disposal of Special Demolition Waste, the relevant ReRL shall send an email to the RUL with the report completed and signed by the teacher responsible for the director, requesting that the waste be sent for disposal.

3. For the disposal of all other waste, make arrangements with the RUL:

  • Plastic (for disposal, proceed with the waste delivery report in accordance with the procedures for the disposal of all laboratory waste to the DTR)
  • WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
  • Iron (PRG LISG and LAS)
  • Wood (PRG CIRI courtyard)
  • Hydraulic-engine oil (PRG LISG-CIRI)
