The Department of Civil, Chemistry, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM) announces the opening of enrolment for a free IFTS Higher Technical Specialisation Course entitled ‘CONSTRUCTION SITE TECHNICIAN EXPERT IN THE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF BUILDING RECOVERY AND HYDROGEOLOGICAL INSTABILITY WITH DIGITAL AND BIM TECHNOLOGIES’.
The training initiative, organised by the Romagna Artisan Building School, was approved by Regional Council Resolution no. DGR 1238/2025 of 28/07/2025 and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus 2021/2027 of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The course is held in Forlimpopoli (FC), at the Romagna Building Trades School, in Via Maestri del Lavoro d'Italia 129.The course has a total duration of 800 hours, of which 400 hours will be dedicated to classroom lessons (also held by DICAM teachers) and 400 hours to internships at companies and studios in the area operating in the sector. Lessons will take place for 12 hours per week, spread over 3 half-days, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The deadline for enrolment is 11 November 2025.
The course aims to train professionals who can effectively intervene in the organisation and management of construction sites, with particular reference to complex territorial contexts characterised by hydrogeological risk and the use of advanced digital technologies and BIM for sustainable and efficient management. The course content includes sustainability in building renovation, measures to mitigate hydrogeological instability, the application of digital technologies and BIM in the construction, renovation and maintenance of buildings, and an in-depth study of topics such as Agenda 2030, the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) and S3 strategies for the GREEN&DIGITAL transition and the circular economy.
The course is aimed at 15 participants, who may be young people or adults, employed or unemployed, resident or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna, and in possession of a secondary school diploma. Access is also granted to those who have been admitted to the 5th year of high school, who have obtained a vocational diploma following 4th year IeFP courses (construction technician), or who, despite not having a diploma, demonstrate skills acquired in previous education, training and work courses, subject to verification. Priority is given to graduates in Surveying, Construction/Energy Engineering, or those with a three-year/master's degree in Engineering-Architecture or scientific subjects with professional experience in the construction sector or who have partially attended such degree courses. The selection of candidates involves a written test and an individual interview.
The initiative is in line with the Department's research and training interests, particularly with regard to sustainable building renovation management and hydrogeological instability mitigation strategies, areas in which our lecturers are actively involved.
