Hydraulic Structures, Maritime Engineering and Hydrology

Analysis of hydrologic, hydraulic, water resources management issues within Civil and Environmental Engineering

Research themes

The “Hydraulic constructions and hydrology” research activities deal with the analysis of water-related issues linked to hydrology, hydraulic and water resources management within Civil and Environmental Engineering. Specifically, research activities focus on the design, construction and control of water resources management structures, hydroelectric production, mitigation of hydrogeological risks and protection of the landscape, preventing water pollution and preserving fluvial ecosystems. Research topics embrace surface and sub-surface hydrology, basin-scale water resources management, sustainable design of water structures, water security and climate variability.
