Preliminary information
The IP address is set on a device's network card and allows the device to connect to the University's fixed network.
It can ONLY be requested by permanent staff ( = IP manager) for
- a device that they will use themselves ( = IP assignee who is also the manager)
- a device that will be used by a non-permanent member of staff (= IP assignee).
It is assigned to a person for a specific device.
It CANNOT be configured on a device other than the one to which it has been assigned.
If the IP manager or assignee changes, the DICAM IT representatives must be notified promptly.
How to request
To request an IP address, send an email to cesia.referentidicam@unibo.it (Department IT staff) with the following information:
- Type of device (e.g. PC, notebook, server, printer, NAS, etc.)
- Model (e.g. Toshiba Portege X10)
- Operating system installed (e.g. Windows 10 prof, Mac OS X 11.0.1, etc.)
- Office where the device is located (PAL code, i.e. the code next to the QR code on the label on the door)
- Unibo e-mail address of any non-permanent user for whom the IP is requested.
If the address is to be used by non-permanent staff (research fellows, doctoral students, etc.), it is necessary to indicate a permanent supervisor and the date on which the collaboration with the Department will end.
- Inventory number (e.g. DICAM xxx, CIRI xxx, etc. or, if there is no label, indicate whether the item is personal or was purchased with DICAM funds).
