Description
The research group works towards the analytical/numerical modelling of structures, investigates and simulates their interaction with the surrounding environment as well as studies structural monitoring strategies. In particular, the research activities focuses on several topics belonging to the Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, such as Structural Analysis, Computational Mechanics, Coupled and Multi-physical problems, Fracture and Damage Mechanics, Structural Health Monitoring.
Application domains of particular relevance for the research group are:
- the analysis and monitoring of masonry structures and monumental buildings
- the propagation of cracks in solids
- the study of innovative/intelligent materials
- the numerical simulation of wind loaded structures
- the design sustainable/green structures
- the development of structural health monitoring approaches
