The ECCSELLENT project is thrilled to announce a comprehensive series of online training courses on CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage), scheduled for early 2025.

The sessions are designed to provide a deep dive into the essential aspects of CCUS, including capture, transport, utilisation, and storage, with a particular emphasis on Italian CCUS infrastructures.
This initiative, funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU, is part of the broader ECCSEL-ERIC project, which connects over 100 world-class CCUS and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) facilities across Europe to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions.
Course Overview
Each course will blend technical knowledge, safety considerations, and real-life case studies, providing attendees with a holistic understanding of the CCUS value chain. Here's a detailed look at the program:
1. January 31, 2025:
Training Course on CO2 Capture R&D
Focus:
- Technologies for industrial decarbonization
- Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Bioenergy with CCS (BECCS) for negative emissions
- Membrane processes, sorbent technologies, and materials
- Green hydrogen production through sorption-enhanced gasification
Speakers include experts from Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), CNR-STEMS, ENEA, and the University of Edinburgh.
2. February 6, 2025:
Training Course on CO2 Transport R&D
Highlights:
- European CO2-backbone development
- Material characterization for CO2 transport
- Engineering challenges and research activities from ENCASE and MADE4CO2 projects
Contributions from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, SINTEF Industry, POLIMI, and more.
3. March 13, 2025:
