The main themes of applied research of the Geomatics group are:
surveying, mapping and monitoring of landscape (subsidence, landslides, etc.) and structures, using terrestrial systems (classic topography and laser scanning), photogrammetry (close-range and aerial, also with UAVs), spatial geodesy and radar interferometry
remote sensing for environmental sustainability, risk management and smart city applications
implementation of international spatial reference frames
design and analysis of control networks
surveying and three-dimensional modeling for Cultural Heritage
metrical use and digital applications for historical maps
