Biographic Note

Camilla Luni has been recently appointed as Associate Professor at University of Bologna (October 12th 2020). She was previously Research Associate Professor at ShanghaiTech University (China) for five years, where she managed a Lab of Biological Engineering. She got her PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Padova in 2009. Then, she was postdoctoral scholar at University of California at Santa Barbara (USA) and University of Padova. She has also been affiliated to private foundations for biomedical research, both in USA and in Italy (Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, Venetian Institute of Molecular Medicine). During 2018-2020, she was in the Board of the Association of the Italian Scholars in China (AAIIC). Her research interests include the control and understanding of human stem cell behavior. She is interested both in basic science problems and biomedical applications, especially in the field of tissue regeneration. The peculiarity of her biological research is the application of engineering principles in the understanding of cellular phenomena, aided by the use of microtechnologies and big data analysis. Students, faculty and staff are kindly invited to attend this seminar.
