Abstract: This short course introduces the main principles of numerical homogenization. After defining the notion of Representative Volume Element and the energy equivalence, we introduce different zero- and first-order methods: Voigt and Reuss bounds, kinematic and static homogenization, periodic homogenization. These different methods will be presented separately, as well as within the common framework of asymptotic homogenization. Some illustrations on composite materials will complete the course.
