Management of water resources depends on the availability and demand of water. This lecture will delve into this issue, focusing on the importance of snow and its effects on drought propagation. It will also provide 3 key examples across the globe: California, Italy, Japan.
SHORT BIO
Dr. Francesco Avanzi is a researcher at CIMA Research Foundation, an applied-research center focusing on civil protection, disaster mitigation, and aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems conservation. He earned his PhD in snow hydrology and physics as the Politecnico di Milano, with visiting periods in Switzerland and Japan. He did a postdoc at UC Berkeley (CA).
